Description
A town situated on a high hill, overlooking the mountains and olive groves, in the east of the province of Jaén.
It conserves its labyrinthine urban layout, with narrow, winding streets, within a walled enclosure of Arab origin; a fact that has earned it the declaration of Historic-Artistic Site. It contains buildings of interest such as the Church of Nuestra Señora de la Asunción, the hermitage of Cristo de la Vera-Cruz (patron saint of the town), its medieval tower, the gates of the wall, etc.
