Description

A town with a very interesting historical past. In ancient times, it was a small village called “La Moraleja”. In the Muslim period, it was called Al-Buxaressa. Here we can find important monuments, such as the Sanctuary of La Fuensanta (built in the first third of the 16th century) and where we find the patron saint of the Cuatro Villas; the Parish Church of San Andrés (a temple from the end of the 15th century and declared an Asset of Cultural Interest and Historical Heritage of Spain); the convent of Santa Ana (inside, we can find a Renaissance-style courtyard with classical arches and columns); the church of Vera Cruz (temple dating from 1550, where we find the carving of the patron saint of this town, the Cristo de la Vera Cruz), the bullring “La Perla del Sur” and its Bullfighting Museum.
